Note: This workshop takes place on two consecutive Wednesday evenings, November 1st & 8th.
Knit a cozy scarf for the winter with this fun technique! We will learn the true möbius cast-on, a few different stitch patterns that look great on either side of the work, and how to finish with a bind-off. Knitting the body of the cowl is fun and easy to take home to work on between classes. You are welcome to contact the instructor for assistance if needed during that time. This cowl project is great for using up a mash-up of different yarns, or use just one or two for a more sophisticated look. Must be adept with knit, purl, cast on, bind off. Confident beginners with some experience ok, as well as intermediate/advanced knitters.
A 48-inch circular knitting needle, size 7 or 8 (shorter circular needles will not work). Worsted or aran weight yarn (about 250-300 yards) plus contrasting worsted weight yarn (about 100 yards). Yarns should be smooth rather than fuzzy or eyelash types, so that you can see your stitches. Choose soft yarn because it will be next to your face. Please note: You will need to have materials ready before the start of class (no time to shop at the beginning of class). Some additional yarns will be available for purchase from instructor if needed. Stitch markers will be provided.
