Embroidered Word of the Year

Brave. Flow. Hope. Balance. Do you have a word to guide you into 2019? We will embroider wall hangings with a word for the year as a way to deepen our intentions and practice or learn a simple hand sewing technique. Play with color, fonts and embellishments to amplify and express your desire for the new year. Come with a word or short phrase, or get inspired by our gathering. 

Impact: Reclaimed fabric is beautified and revitalized, just like our vision for the year ahead!

Participant and Materials Requirements: All materials provided. you may bring an embroidery hoop, embroidery floss, scissors or needles if you have favorite ones in your stash.

 

Instructor Libby Chenault

Libby Chenault

About the Instructor: Libby Chenault is a local fiber artist, mother and popular workshop teacher around town. During the school year, Libby works with kids of all abilities as a paraeducator at Carl Cozier Elementary School. On Saturdays you may find her at the Bellingham Farmer’s Market with her business Moth and Squirrel selling upcycled hats and stuffed animals. For over a decade she taught gardening and craft classes through the Bellingham Parks and Rec department for folks with disabilities and kids. She specializes in working with recycled materials and adapting projects to students interests and abilities.
