Note: This summer camp takes place Monday-Friday, July 27-31 from 10 am to 2 pm daily.
In this summer camp we will combine craft and myths of magical beasts. Be prepared to felt dragon jewels, needle felt fairies, a dragon wing cape and unicorn horns. Myths and folklore will be read while the children craft. Delightful games of magic and myth will be played Love of mythology, story, and a desire to learn handcrafts encouraged. Ages 7+
Impact: Discarded textiles, small scraps of fabric and wool are diverted from the waste stream to make unique creations, while teaching kids textile craft skills.
Participant and Materials Requirements: No previous sewing experience necessary, but participants must be able to safely handle scissors and other tools. All materials provided. Please bring a snack, lunch, and water.
About the Instructor: Natalia Robinson is obsessed with all things naturally made by hand. She lived in New Zealand and Guatemala studying felting, weaving, natural dyeing, spinning, and sewing.
