Once you learn how, you can make scarves for any season- it is all about your fabric choice.
Student and Material Requirements
Students must know how to wind a bobbin, thread a sewing machines, and sew straight and zigzag stitches.
Materials: 1 ¾ yards soft knit, 45” wide will make two infinity scarves, 54” to 60” will make about three. Look for materials that drape well, but avoid sheer fabrics such as chiffon. While sheer fabrics make great scarves, these materials are difficult for beginning sewers. Light knits work well.
Tools: Sewing machine with power cord, bobbin case, bobbin, sewing machine needles, standard or zigzag foot (if your machine has a specific foot for this stitch). Your machine must be able to sew a zigzag stitch if you choose a knit fabric for this project. Also, scissors, stitch ripper, pins, chalk o liner or fabric marker, and hand sewing needle.
