Log Cabin Knitting

Note: This class takes place on two consecutive Wednesdays, 11/14 and 11/21.

Learn to make use of small amounts of yarn with this simple but satisfying technique. Starting with a pair of fingerless mitts, you will learn the basics of the log cabin technique and look like a seasoned pro in no time. Some knitting experience recommended.

Impact: Scraps of yarn too small for other projects are transformed into lasting and beautiful attire.

Participant Materials & Requirements: Please bring at least 105 yards of dk and/or worsted weight yarn (ask at Ragfinery if you need assistance). It is suggested you bring three to four colors of about 30 – 50 yards each. You will also need size US 6 straight knitting needles, scissors, and a tapestry needle. Though you need not be an advanced knitter, it will be helpful to have some basic experience.

About the Instructor: Caroline learned to knit almost ten years ago when her grandmother bought her yarn at a garage sale and challenged her to teach herself to knit. She’s been an avid knitter ever since and can often be seen knitting while walking around WWU’s campus. Follow her on Instagram: sweetcarolineknits
