Do you have some pants that need hemming, a hole that needs patching, socks that want darning? Are you itching for some stitching, but not sure where to start? In this class, we’ll cover the basics of mending by hand.
Impact: Garments in need of mending are fixed, extending their life and diverting them from the waste stream.
Participant and Materials Requirements: Students should bring one or more items of clothing that need repair and material needed to repair it (eg. patching material, new buttons, etc), or materials can be purchased at Ragfinery. Instructor will provide needles and thread and miscellaneous material to use.
About the Instructor: Aurora weaves professionally for True North Textiles, and also enjoys weaving in her spare time. She is especially passionate about upcycling, and thus loves weaving and teaching people how to make rag rugs and other upcycled creations.
