Come learn how to craft a beautiful no sew braided rug. This four strand technique eliminates the need for sewing braids together and results in a sturdy rug able to withstand the modern washer and dryer. These rugs are a great way to keep worn, torn, ugly or stained fabrics out of the landfill.

This workshop is offered in partnership with Allied Arts and the Recycled Art and Resource Expo (RARE), a two-day festival that celebrates creative reuse in the arts and other industries.

Participant and Materials Requirements
Please bring sharp scissors and at least two different colored old bed sheets, flat or fitted, any size.  Avoid white, this will be a rug and white will get dirty fast so I don’t recommend it.  You won’t finish your rug in class but will be confident to finish your project at home by the time you leave. Sheets can also be purchased at Ragfinery prior to class.
