Come learn how to craft a beautiful no sew braided rug. This four strand technique eliminates the need for sewing braids together and results in a sturdy rug able to withstand the modern washer and dryer. These rugs are a great way to keep worn, torn, ugly or stained fabrics out of the landfill.

This workshop is offered in partnership with Allied Arts and the Recycled Art and Resource Expo (RARE), a two-day festival that celebrates creative reuse in the arts and other industries.

Participant and Materials Requirements
Please bring scissors and two sets of old bed sheets. Flat sheets are easier to work with than fitted. Complimentary colors of one set lighter and one set darker would be best. Avoid white, this will be a rug and white will get dirty fast so I don’t recommend it. Patterns are fine. Sheets can also be purchased at Ragfinery prior to class.
