Ragfinery Workshops

Ragfinery’s mission is to grow a culture of creative textile reuse through education, entrepreneurial opportunities, and job training.

Our workshops uphold this mission by inviting our community to choose creativity over consumption, recycling over retail, and making over marketing. There’s something for everyone, from basket weaving to quilting - we can’t wait to see what you create!

Thanks to a generous grant, we are able to offer two free beginning sewing and mending classes on a quarterly basis. Due to overwhelming interest in these offerings, we offer spots via lottery. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when new classes open up for registration!

Free spots are occasionally available in our paid workshops on a case-by-case basis. If you are unable to cover the class fee for a workshop you’d like to take, please reach out to workshops@ragfinery.com for more information on our class fee waivers.

Teach a Class With Us

We are at capacity for Winter 2025 Workshops!

The workshop proposal form for Spring and Summer 2025 will open in December - stay tuned and please reach out to the Workshops Coordinator with any questions or to discuss future workshops: workshops@ragfinery.com. you have any questions please feel free to reach out at workshops@ragfinery.com. Thank you!

Goals for our workshop program:

  • continue our mission of turning consumption into crafting!

  • offer local textile artists and craftspeople a venue to teach their unique skills

  • offer a variety of techniques in various media, with a focus on waste diversion and creative upcycling

  • increase accessibility by offering free classes and class fee waivers to needful participants

Your donation to the workshop program will go toward materials and supplies for classes, paying our instructors and coordinators, and (most importantly) making these classes accessible for as many people as possible. As the workshop program grows, we will be also able to offer more workshops with a greater variety of techniques and materials. Thank you for helping us grow!
